We are a sports club founded by experienced swimming and triathlon enthusiasts. We include both professional European-level athletes and local Latvian champions who start in both short, medium and long distances.
Athletes, coaches and internationally qualified triathlon judges actively participate in the club with the aim of promoting triathlon sports and raising the quality of triathlon competitions in Latvia.
The sports club TRI KAN has been operating since 2021, has already gathered 50 members of the club and is a legal Member of the Latvian Triathlon Federation.
With the goal of representing their interests, building a Community of like-minded triathlon enthusiasts and building the quality of the competition, Maris and Edgari decide to start Triathlon and Swimming clubs' TRI can '. Club logo - purple lizard.
Translation of TRI KAN - “K' an” is the creator of the universe, symbolizing internal fire that is the basis of the power of life. In Mayan mythology, “Kan” is associated with a snake or lizard and symbolizes the energy of life. Snakes or lizards in ancient cultures were often associated with the power and regeneration of life. The word “K' an” describes a being that represents space energy and the power of life, pointing to “internal fire,” which can mean a source of life energy.
The club becomes a legal Member of the Latvian Triathlon Federation and organises its first competitions – Aluksnes triathlon 2022. Including a sprint championship!
The Aluksnes triathlon tradition continues, as well as the Baltic Championship is organised. Aluksnes welcomed 250 athletes.
TRI KAN gives his artava in the construction of Riga triathlon, taking on the construction of a cycling track.
For the first time in Latvia, TRI can organizes an aquatlon with swimming in open waters – Adazi aquatlon 2023.
The Aluksnes triathlon 2024 hosts the Youth Championship for the first time, also hosting athletes from neighbouring countries! “Adazi aquatlon 2024” brings together a record number of participants. Maris and Evita have been re-elected as members of the Board of Directors, as well as Luxas has been elected to the Board of Directors. TRI can's board has been expanded from three to five members, thus ensuring the club's future operations are expanded in different directions.
TRI KAN has undertaken the most ambitious event so far – two-day competition in Aluksnes, including open water swimming, relay, youth Open and Latvian Olympic Championship.
The range of distances offered by Adazi aquatlon 2025 will also be expanded.
